| The
National Guitar Workshop Classical Summit will sponsor an International
Solo Competition open to all ages. The competition will take place July
25-29, 2005 at the NGW campus in New Milford, Connecticut. All competitors
must be registered for the summit. There will be two rounds. In the preliminary
round, competitors will perform one of the following etudes by Villa-Lobos:
3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, or 12; as well as one contrasting work. Total playing
time for the first round must not exceed 8 minutes. The final round will
consist of 20 minutes of free choice repertoire. First Prize: $4,000 Second Prize: $2,000 Third Prize: $1,000 Fourth Prize: $500 All finalists will also receive 50% off tuition at next year's summit.
